I would like to extend a very Merry Christmas to everyone and may your days be safe and sound during this time. Remember this is the time we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Take time to remember why we celebrate and thank Him for all we have and for our lives. Father in Heaven I come to thee to ask for a blessing upon everyone this Christmas time. Father we humbly ask for forgiveness for any transgressions and ask that you be the lifter of hearts at this time. Thank you Lord for all that you bestow upon us each and everyday. It doesn't matter if you are sick or well raise you voice to heaven and say thank you. I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.
May God Bless all at this time,

The People of Stockbridge May be Behind the Eight Ball
The People of Stockbridge May be Behind the Eight Ball
The Henry County Board of Commissioners on December 1, 2015 voted to impose an additional $743,000 to the city of Stockbridge for police services on the $500,000 now being paid that has been on hold since December 2014. The county said it would be paid in quarterly installments beginning April 1 according to the paper. Also, the tickets written in the city will go before a city judge, but the county will take 40% of all the fines generated. And the county shall levy, assess and collect ad valorem taxes within the city limits at the same millage rate as are levied, assessed and collected in the unincorporated areas of the county for police services. The city will have to agree to this arrangement before it is final. The county knows the city cannot afford its own police force at this time and is taking advantage of the situation.

McDonough is trying to out do Stockbridge
The leadership of McDonough is trying to out do Stockbridge as the back water city of Henry County with that park land. As a piece has come out about the property where the Alexander Park is a key asset to the betterment of Council woman Notti. I live in Rufus Stewarts section of town and we watch the antics that have always plagued this city. She lives in the big house and all the land around it will be park land and at one time belonged to her family. And even the small land next to hers where the city just paid $300K for belongs to the home company of Farmers Furniture who was begun by an old friend of the Herman Talmadge, Sr. Family of which she was once part of. Strange how things work as the big money that is planned for the building of the park is going to take many years to gather. Vested interest in something that will pay dividends in the long run. Welcome to the white side of town where corruption runs deep.

We Are Not Atlanta
I am Talitha Smith of Stockbridge and am new to the area. It seems it is political season in this city. It is a shame I can’t vote in the election because I haven’t lived here long enough. There is one thing I have learned though in these past few months and that is a man who has a blog site and is running for city council. I moved to the area to get out of the City of Atlanta to a smaller area. This person touts wanting this area to become Atlanta. If he loves the place so much let him move there. My boyfriend and I wanted a quieter place to raise our 3 year old. If I could vote I could not vote for someone who puts another town above his own. That is what gets cities and communities in trouble. I surely hope he does not succeed.

No Dollar General On Keys Ferry Rd & Stroud Rd!!
The idea of wanting to put a Dollar General Store at the intersection of Stroud Road and Keys Ferry Rd in southeastern Henry County is a poor idea. This is one of the last areas of the county that shows the true rural nature of our past. According to records of the area from July 1, 2015, there are not enough people to support this store with one at either end of Keys Ferry Road. It is just over kill and the ambiance of the community would be ruined by bringing in this type of business to the area. With the population of this area being only 162 people per square mile it doesn't make sense to bring this to the area expecting it to thrive. It would likely fail leaving another empty store in Henry County. The old buildings at the intersection are part of the Sandy Ridge community of the past. The building at the corner was built in 1916, the next one in 1930, the next one in 1940 and the shop in 1976 which was a volunteer F.D. for a while. The old
homes across the road from the property were built around the turn of he century. This is also the roadway that the Union Army camped along in November 1864 with the March to the Sea. The 17th Corps of General Francis Blair, Jr. stretched from Worthville in Butts County to Sandy Ridge up to the community of Wano. The history of the area speaks for itself and bringing in a Dollar General Store would not be a right fit for the area. We at the Cemetery Research Group are opposed to the destruction of Historical sites in our county and this would be another destruction of the past that future generations would never see.

It’s been 14 years
The past few years, I have seen all the caring and pride for each other and America dwindling very rapidly. It started when the same threat that attacked us in 2001 became more prevalent in America. We are starting to slide down a slope that our Nation might not be able to recover from. It’s time we get our attitude back, that we have the best Military in the world, and if you mess with us “We will put a boot up your ass.” We are the top dog in the game if you want to play we are ready. Americans love to fight, they love the sting of battle, we started the Country with a battle and it’s the only way we will keep it. And for the people that don’t like it, get out of our Nation we are Americans!
I ask you to remember what America stood for years ago when we lived as a great Nation. Remember our Military Men and Women that have died keeping us free. Remember the Firemen and Policemen that gave of themselves, and some did give all that day. And through years to come, through sickness from the debris at ground zero.
I ask that you remember the victims that were killed that day, and their families and loved ones. Please say a prayer for the families of the victims of that horrible day that we suffered. They are still hurting from the sudden way they lost loved ones. I have been in contact with a few of them and I am one also. I lost my fiancé on that day. We need your understanding that we lost loved ones in a horrible way that we hear about all the time on the news. Some have been able to move on, but many have had a very hard time with their loss of loved ones. Some family members feel that their life force was zapped out of them on that day. So please show compassion for us as we try to live a life that is empty and alone.
To my sweetheart, a day does not pass that I don’t think of you. I miss your laugh that was like a rose petal just as it opens. I miss your beautiful golden hair that was like honey. And your eyes that were perfume that melted my heart every time I would look into them. Your heart was pure gold full of love that I knew was right for me. I miss you so much darling that I will never be complete again in my life. I still play one of our songs, it reminds me of the first time you said you loved me. I knew then I had found the love of a lifetime in you sweet heart. You made me feel so alive knowing that we were in love so much. So baby here is our song, you are my “Love Of A Lifetime” https://youtu.be/5ETENrv8cnU
I love you with all my being.

“The Day that Time Stood Still”
“The Day that Time Stood Still”
We are fast approaching the 14th anniversary of the deadliest attack upon our nation since it’s inception. On September 11, 2001, our nation saw the horror of terrorists using jet airliners for weapons. Hijackers took four planes to do their dirty work. They took two to New York City to attack the twin office towers of the World Trade Center. They also used one to fly into the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. and yet still another didn’t reach its target as it came down in a remote field in Pennsylvania.
On that day when time halted for many, 2,977 innocent lives were taken by these terrorists. In New York alone, 2,606 died. Another 125 died at the Pentagon and 246 on the four jet planes including the field in Pennsylvania. Air traffic came to a halt. Our nation was on full alert. And our leaders vowed to bring those who did this to justice. Well that justice took a very long time to find the key figures of this plan to disrupt the nation and the world. Some are still at large today.
The death toll continues to rise as those who went to help at the scene in New York City, many of them have gotten ill with strange illnesses of the lungs as well as over 1,400 have developed cancer. The death toll will rise as even more of those involved will likely succumb to some respiratory or cancer related illness. And look at the death toll from the troops in the foreign lands looking and fighting these terrorists.
What the nation should realize as they stop to reflect on that day is the fact that there are still those in this world who want to see us dead. Keep that close at heart and never forget it. Remember those family members and loved ones who lost those who were part of their lives that day. Keep them in prayer as they are still hurting today after all this time. And there seems to be a lack of people wanting to remember the attack on our nation that killed so many. They seem to want to forget. Let not anyone forget and let not our youth go without learning what happened that day fourteen years ago.
Thank you and God Bless,
Pastor Dr. Mike Moon, D.D.

The South River In Poor Health
Mr. Britt sir thank you for your blog where we can send in our views without being turned away. I have something serious to discuss being a mother of three.
The South River that runs from Atlanta down through DeKalb, Rockdale, Henry, Newton and into Jackson Lake is a very polluted river. The odor after the rain is like death in the air. Atlanta releases sewerage into the river and other chemicals which flow down to us. I would never allow my children to even go near the water for fear of bacterial disease. My husband said he would never eat a fish from the river because he has seen some with sores on them. I see people all the time in canoes and kayaks on the river and they are literally taking their lives into their hands by going in the water. I have read where Atlanta’s permit for releasing sewerage into the river was to be renewed this year and with possible extra releases. We also heard that the EPD is dragging their feet in the matter. I am sure they will get what they want. Look at the Chattahoochee that flows into West Point Lake. The river is polluted and so is the lake. Rarely do
people eat a fish for that lake. But it is irresponsible for people to advertise to go and enjoy the river when they should know that it is highly polluted and dangerous. I have heard that the river would take years to clean up even if Atlanta didn’t send anything into the river. There are other factors like streams and creeks that lead into the river and they are heavily polluted as well. One person we know who lives along the Snapfinger Creek in DeKalb County that flows into the South River had the water checked along his stretch. It showed high amounts of bacteria and even high amounts of battery acid from a source up stream. Please don’t go in the river and stay safe because your life is worth more than someone’s pipe dream.

Henry County BOC Stabs Citizens In The Back
Thank you for having a place for the people to voice their real thoughts. I was at the BOC meeting on Wednesday morning when the millage rate was set. The chairman Mr. Smith and district three Mr. Barham voted against the type of roll back that will cost us more in taxes due to the big jump in property tax values. But you try to sell your home what they claim it is worth and you will be badly disappointed. Here is what was said according to the Henry Herald Newspaper: “Commissioners could have chosen to keep the millage rate at 14.298 but it would have cost the taxpayers more. It would have generated an excess of $2.4 million in the unassigned fund balance. If commissioners had approved a 100 percent rollback to 13.234 to generate the same amount in taxes as last year, the county’s unassigned fund balance would be about $1.157 million below the required 25 percent, according to county projections. Smith has maintained that he campaigned on not
raising property taxes. However, Commissioner Brian Preston argued that Smith created the budget that was approved, which would require an increase. Smith countered that the needed funds could come from the reserve account, and that the numbers presented are merely projections of what may or may not happen regarding dipping into the unassigned fund balance. Commissioner Blake Prince said he would not support taking money from reserves in the future, which could potentially cause a government shut down. After discussions, Smith asked for a motion to approve a millage rate, but after a long silence, no motion was made. Interim County Manager Cheri Hobson-Matthews attempted to speak more on the millage options in an effort to get a motion when Commissioner Bruce Holmes made the motion to approve the millage rollback to 13.873. Preston seconded the motion.” Always remember when you are shelling out those hard earned dollars for taxes that Commissioners
Holmes, Preston, Moss and Prince put them upon your backs. They had their minds made up long before these public hearings were held. They are a pathetic bunch if they think the public is that stupid. Remember all this if these money grubbers decide to run for public office again. They have no place in handling the money of the people of these county whom they swore an oath to represent.

Gambling In Georgia?
Hello there this is about the governor of Georgia Nathan Deal's stance on gambling in the state.
Justin Sims
McDonough,GA
ATLANTA (WXIA) -- Several recent reports have seen major casinos showing interest in the state of Georgia, both in downtown Atlanta and at Turner Field. Gambling is illegal in Georgia, and Governor Nathan Deal has said he has no desire to change that. But is his stance changing?
"I am opposed to casino gambling," Governor Deal reiterated Monday. "I think it does not offer benefits that outweigh the negatives."
Deal then offered a caveat.
"Once you have the vote of the people," he said, "and it expresses the will of the people of this state, that certainly puts implementing legislation in a different light."
Basically, he said, if the people want casinos, he might not prevent them. This would require two parts, the first being a Constitutional amendment to legalize gambling. That would require a two-thirds majority from the state House and Senate. It would then go to a vote from the public -- no governor's signature required.
The second part? Legislation to grant permission for casinos.
"I don't have to sign anything for it to become law," Deal said.
He simply needs to get out of the way. When a bill comes to his desk, the governor can either sign it or veto it. But he can also do nothing – stand by for 40 days – and the bill automatically becomes law without his signature.
Is Deal surprised that the casino industry has shown interest in Georgia despite his protestations?
"No, it doesn't surprise me at all," said the governor. "They're willing to take the gamble."
None of this, of course, would happen until the legislature begins its 2016 session. That's six months for those in favor of gambling to build support from the state House and Senate.

Henry County Crime Increase
Hi there at the Henry County Community News Blog. I am Richard Marks of Rockdale County and have been watching the events over in Henry County. I have done an extensive study of the crime in your county. It is very apparent that 62.45% of the crimes that are committed are by African Americans. Most of the violent felony crimes are committed by them. This is a dramatic increase since 2005 when at that time 45.6% of the crimes were committed by African Americans. I am an African American myself and I see a horrible trend here. Families need to become more active in what is happening to their youngsters since gangs and other problems such as drugs are so prevalent in the community today. I have watched as the northern section of the county has become more and more in line with these types of crimes. Home burglaries, thefts, robbery and even some other heinous crimes. As a community that has shifted more to the African American’s you can do
better. This is beginning to spill into Rockdale County. If this trend continues then the area will become more blighted like what happened in Detroit. I am afraid not for myself, but for my grandchildren as they will have to live in this turmoil. There have been some in both the white and black communities who have tried to put a wedge in between the races and cause more trouble. It is evident if you just look around at what is happening under your noses. It shouldn’t be left up to some community organization, police or government to correct this problem it must begin at home. But woefully many of those who have children in crime are criminals themselves. The children are just living the lifestyles of the parents. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said in 1967 that in order to have better relations that we must do better ourselves.

What Happened To Diversity Georgia?
Now there is a Georgia State Senator who wants to do away with Confederate Memorial Day. He has caused trouble in the past with people about the day set aside to remember the veterans from Georgia who died in the Civil War. The gentleman is wrong in this.
Sen. Vincent Fort announced Wednesday he plans to introduce legislation this winter prohibiting the state from designating holidays or officially recognizing the Confederacy in any other way.
He can propose and if this is carried out it will not keep people from recognizing the day on their own. This only feeds into the current dialog that is being pushed by those who do not like the white segment of our population. It is called reverse discrimination.

Stockbridge's Statement On Police Services Agreement
Stockbridge City Manager Michael Harris issued a statement containing the city’s opinion and the financial terms being discussed.
“The City of Stockbridge and Henry County are in the process of renegotiating their long-standing agreement for police coverage for residents of Stockbridge,” he wrote. “The Henry County Police Department has provided coverage for the City of Stockbridge since 1978. Stockbridge officials assure residents that there will be no lapse in police protection for the city as negotiations continue.”
Aside from paying a previously agreed-upon fee of $500,000 per year for police services, Harris stated that the city has provided additional funds that average $2,617,639 per year over the last five years, and the city also has provided a police precinct building valued at $253,876 annually.
The county has proposed raising the $500,000 fee to $2 million per year over the next ten years, according to Harris, while the city made a counterproposal of $750,000 per year and asked for supporting documentation from the county that would support any increase.
“We believe the County has understated the amount that the City of Stockbridge has been paying for police services,” Harris wrote. “In the meantime, we expect that Henry County will continue to provide police protection for our citizens as we negotiate in good faith.”

Do Henry County Restaurants Care About Your Safety ?
Mr. Britt here is a piece that I noticed tonight. Since the restaurant in Henry County that was raising the roof because they didn’t pass the strict health department rules had a retest and passed this time. The local newspaper has five links on the homepage referencing the new article which pretty much roles the health inspectors over the coals like they are villains. They are doing their job and they have taken the scoring to a new high to make sure the restaurants are safe for its patrons. That is what most people want. But instead the paper wants to help tout around the innuendo about the health inspectors. If someone gets food poisoning and dies, then the public will want the head of the inspector who looked the other way to satisfy a owner of a eatery who can’t take it. This is known as attack mode by them and even spreading the word around that the county doesn’t want restaurants. Any one looking around will see restaurants on every
corner. And there are some good ones who regularly have good inspections and if they happen to falter don’t go on attack mode with facts and figures from around the state. The people of Henry County better worry about Henry County and be thankful that these inspectors are doing an outstanding job.

Stockbridge Came Close To Not Having Police Services Thanks To Two Commissioners
Watching the Henry County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday evening was very irritating for my family to watch. We have all known for years that the reason Henry County was hired to provided police services for the City of Stockbridge is because of the bad police department that existed in the middle 1970’s. Old Chief Collier and his men were always going after people with out of county tags. The State of Georgia came down hard on the City and when Rudy Kelley was elected Mayor in 1978 he dissolved the police department with the aid of the Stockbridge City Council and in the process hired Henry County to provide police service for the city. Now the Board of Commissioners feel that it is time for the city to pay much more money and the city cannot see tripling the price they pay for their service and then let them have a nice precinct building for a low price. Sounds like the $10 a year rent on that old bank building. We listened as the
Commissioners were ready to throw the citizens of Stockbridge out with the bath water. Commissioners Holmes and Prince were being very vocal about not wanting to work with the city anymore. Commissioner Barham felt that the police service should not be turned away from the people. My brother said that the citizens pay enough property taxes to the county to cover any police service that is offered. He said it sounds like double pay to him. Mr. Prince made a remark saying that it wasn’t fair to the people of Locust Grove not to have a police unit available because it is in Stockbridge. He needs to understand that Locust Grove has had it’s own police department all along with over 20 officers at any given time. And I have a good friend who lives in the Locust Grove area and he said that there are always police and sheriff’s vehicles going to the shooting range outside Locust Grove. My brother said that Prince needs to do another assessment
of the situation. If it weren’t for the begging of current sitting County Manager Cheri Mathews and County Attorney Jaugstetter the commissioners would have taken the police from Stockbridge last night. Instead they will meet again on July 7th and hopefully the people from the county manager’s office can meet further with the people from the city of Stockbridge and bring a resolution to this matter that will be the best for both parties. If the City of Stockbridge has to create its own police department then they will likely have to start having another city property tax for the citizens. This will make many growl because they haven’t had a property tax in years. The whole matter is using the citizens as pawns in the game that is being played with the lives of those who must be protected. My father said that our only hope lies with the talks between the County Manager and the City Manager Mr. Harris and hopefully Mayor Thompson. We live off
of Flippen Road and in the complex across the road from our home is where the gang killing happened several years ago. With the influx of people the police will be needed in Stockbridge. The people are waiting for answers and decisions instead of threats and bickering. That has gotten old. It is time for those who are elected to lead to become true statesmen and lay aside petty grievances.

Upsetting News From Stockbridge
Mr. Britt, if you would please print this information on your blog. I am a resident of the City of Stockbridge and attended the June 8th meeting of the city council. After they finished releasing Ms. Buschman from being investigated about wrong doing towards the charter and being an elected official on the DDA which she explained was the case and if she weren’t one of them would have to be according to the rules of the DDA. I have also noticed that since a new DDA board was seated that nothing of any worth towards getting the property or money returned to the city that was given away by out going Mayor Alarcon on December 30, 2013. This should have never occurred. Then we learn that the old bank building that is known as the Stockbridge Multiplex was bought for $750,000 and renovations were completed at a cost of over $200,000 which gives it a price tag of about one million dollars of tax payer money involved. Former mayor Alarcon and city
manager Milliron put the theater company in there from Avondale where Mr. Milliron is a resident. Then, this property was given to the DDA. The theater group is paying $10 dollars a year for a lease. That’s right only $10 a year. That is roughly 83 cents a month. Now if this sweet of a deal can be made for other residents let’s go for it. I am in agreement with Mayor Thompson that the property should be returned before anymore tax money is spent on the building and that it should be as originally proposed as the senior and youth center for Stockbridge and named for Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in his honor since his father is from Stockbridge. These are the facts that we know presently and I am sure there are other revelations that will come forward. And also one other thing if I might, Mr. Houston Nelson is the new head of the DDA placed in this position by the current council and mayor. It would seem appropriate that any committee or
board created and seated by a mayor and council these people should answer to them or be replaced. The mayor told Mr. Nelson in open session that he is in his office 3 days a week and that he should be reaching out to the mayor not the other way around. If this person cannot do the job effectively as seems the case then replace him and any other members that are placed there by this council or even dissolve the DDA and create a better program for the citizens of Stockbridge. This is what I saw and anyone can view on the Stockbridge City website. Thank you to Mayor Thompson and those who on the council are trying to do the right things for us the people.

“Freedom”
“Freedom”
My friends if you ever wondered what freedom means just go by a local cemetery or military cemetery. Look at the graves that gave the colonies freedom from Great Britain. Look at those graves that protected her against Great Britain in the War of 1812. Those graves that were the resting places of those defenders of the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas of 1836. The graves of the troops lost in the U.S.-Mexican War of 1846-1848. Then the horrendous total of graves that came from the American Civil War between 1861-1865 which totaled over 700,000. There were places such as Bull Run, Shiloh, The Wilderness, Gettysburg, Sharpsburg, Chickamauga, Petersburg, The March to the Sea, just to name a few that people still remember and discuss to this day. Then there were the soldiers who died taming the West in the 1870’s with losses such as Custer’s Last Stand at the Battle of the Little Big Horn. Then the Spanish American War of 1898 that started with the
sinking of the Battleship Maine in Havana Harbor, Cuba. Then the Philippine war of 1899-1900. A war began in Europe in 1914 that would begin costing the lives of Americans in ships going to Europe by the sinking of them by the German U-Boats. The United States entered the Great War in April 1917 until it ended in 1918. This was the World War One that took so many lives in the trenches of France. Then only a few short years later we entered another even bigger war that was global that began in 1939 by the crazed dreams of a madman named Adlof Hitler. We entered the war after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. This war was a horrible war that lasted until 1945 with the dropping of the Atomic Bombs to end the war that was called World War Two. We fought in North Africa, Italy, from Normandy to Berlin, Germany. We fought from islands in the Pacific known as the Philippines where we were defeated at Bataan, Corregidor, and then
the Bataan death march that claimed thousands of men. We fought at places like Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, and many others.
Then with the dawning of the Atomic Age we then went into what would be known as a Cold War that lasted till the Soviet Union broke up. But in between there were hot spots like the Korean War in the early 1950’s, Vietnam which was from the early sixties to we left Saigon in 1975. A long black wall in Washington bares the names of the over 58,000 who died there. Then we were involved with the war with the rebels in Nicaragua and El Salvador, and the Cubans in Grenada. There was also the Marine Barracks suicide truck bomb in Beirut, Lebannon. We then went to the Middle East to fight Saddam Hussein of Iraq who had invaded Kuwait in 1991 and we drove him back into his country. Then, our fighting men and women went to the Balkans to support the war in Kosovo. Suicide bombers killed several on the U.S.S. Cole in the Middle East. We were attacked by a power seeking monster on our own homeland in New York on September 11, 2001 by the suicide terrorists of
Osama Bin Laden. This launched us into the War on Terror which continues to this day. We have fought in Iraq to see the downfall of Saddam Hussein, we are fighting in Afghanistan, we sent a team into Pakistan to kill Osama Bin Laden, but more trouble is brewing with a new group known as ISIS. The entire Middle East region continues to be a powder keg.
This is from the Bible of wars and rumors of wars that will come. But this is also how we have kept our freedom. Freedom is not bought freely it is through the blood of the many thousands over the years who gave their lives so that America would be free. So, remember those graves on the hill over looking the beaches of Normandy, France; the graves all across the Pacific, and those graves here in the United States in places like Arlington Cemetery, Andersonville National Cemetery, Marietta National Cemetery and many more. Stand for a few moments today and give honor to those who have fallen to give you this right. We are the United States of America. “I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible with Liberty and Justice for all.” My Country ‘Tis of Thee Sweet land of liberty of thee I sing, Land where my Father died, Home of the Pilgrims Pride, From
every mountainside let Freedom Ring.
Have a safe and blessed Memorial Day.

Comments About Stockbridge From Citizens
I find it really hard to understand why people picked to be on the ZAB and the DDA by the current City Council would want to protest the very people they represent. It is a misnomer for them to even contemplate such an action while trying to be a part of the city government per se. There is a dual problem here. One the city council needs to handle their business accordingly. And two those who are representatives of the city on various boards need to find a way to communicate with those that chose them without going out in front of the City Hall looking like you are in Missouri. The leader of this rabble complains that there is too much media attention and now he rouses this event up in hopes of gathering media attention not for the right reasons though. He plans on running for city council and wants to try and drum up a base to have him elected. I personally would not be able to vote for this type of person because they are just enhancing their
own agenda. If you are in league with this person it might be wise to distance yourself from him because all he will bring you is trouble and more angst in the city.
Chris Goodman
Stockbridge, Georgia
Protesting in Stockbridge really doesn’t help anything because the message is tied to the run for office by a self appointed mouthpiece.
Donald
I believe it is totally unacceptable for a person to attack the city and try to call it a rally for jobs. He is just looking for a way to promote his agenda to run for office. It is a cheap way to do it on the backs of others.
Maurice James
Above all we need more jobs in the city. With that said we don’t need protests to bring more negative publicity in the press about Stockbridge. No one asked Alexander to be our public relations person.
Monica Morales
This protest/rally is another black eye on the City of Stockbridge by one that is supposed to support the City according to his past posts.
Margaret Juanita Emerson
I drove by the City Hall in Stockbridge and there were only 8 people at the protest rally. Looks like this petty little man’s influence only goes to a very few.
Alicia Thomas
The protest didn’t effect anything inside the building. 6 or 7 people can’t make much of an impression. Then there was what was happening inside the building with some drama included with former councilwoman Gilbert being ejected from the room by the Mayor for her continued growling. Then the proceedings continued until past 1:00am when the council decided to stop tonight and plan more discussion at another date to make a decision. Ms. Buschman called J.T. Williams and Houston Nelson of the DDA to be her witnesses. The lawyer bringing the charge told them at the end that the point was not what the DDA people had to say it is that Ms. Buschman broke the charter. She violated her oath of office and more.

Stockbridge Mayor For 31 Years Passes Away
R. G. Rudy Kelley
July 26, 1934 - May 3, 2015
R. G. Rudy Kelley, age 80, of Stockbridge, GA died Sunday, May 3, 2015. He was born in Kelleytown, GA to the late Clifton Cloud and Raleigh Vee Crumbley Kelley. Rudy was Presbyterian, a Veteran of the United States Army, Owner / Operator of Southside Tire Company. He served as Mayor of Stockbridge for 31 years. While serving as Mayor, he was a member of Atlanta Regional Commission. He was owner of Wireless ETC. Rudy’s favorite past time was a round of golf. He was a member of the Eagles Landing Country Club. He was a loving husband, father, and, grandfather.
Mr. Kelley is survived by his wife of 59 years Mary Jo Kelley; children, Rudy (Natalie) Kelley, Jr., Kim Kelley, Kristy (Chris) Harris; siblings, Billy Kelley
Mary Ann Brisendine; grandchildren, Anna and Lauren Harris; and Kassie Bella his four legged daughter.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00pm on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at First United Methodist Church of Stockbridge. Interment will follow at Kelley Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 5, 2015 from 1:00 - 3:00pm and 6:00 - 8:00pm at the Funeral Home.
I will truly miss Rudy (Mayor Kelley) as he was a long and good steward of the City of Stockbridge. I knew him before he ever became Mayor of the city. His family being from Kelleytown and his brothers and his sister knew my family as we lived in McDonough. My uncle grew up with them. He was the late Sam McCullough, Jr. or “Little Sam” as he was known. His parents Sam and Myrtice McCullough are buried at the Kelley Presbyterian Church on Airline Road. I remember Rudy having his tire store underneath the old Moseley Furniture Store Shopping Center on North Henry. Then, he built Southside Tire on the property next door. He saw a lot of changes come to Stockbridge during his tenure. The hwy through town was four laned and a bridge built over the railroad. He began in the old city hall on North Berry Street that was torn down to build the Ted Strickland Community Building. He was mayor in the City Hall at the corner of S. Lee Street and N. Henry Blvd. Then the new city hall is named for him. Rudy did a lot for people over the years to help them and those who know this do remember it. I know my late father was a friend to Rudy and knew that Rudy was a good man and tried his best to do what was right for everyone in business and city hall. I saw Rudy at the funeral of former Councilman G.W. “Jr.” Evans and then at the dedication of his painting at city hall recently. Lord I know that Rudy was always there when needed. I remember him shaking my hand when I shared that big award that time. He said that I put the county and city on the map. I told him he was being too gracious. I remember seeing Rudy and Miss Mary Jo a while back at the Walgreens Drugstore and he never failed to speak and have a few words with me. Time is passing quickly my friends and so many of those that I have known over the past 45 years are passing along quickly now and we are getting to the time when we will be stepping over to the other side. Some of us sooner than others but the time is getting near. I want to say to the family that I respected Rudy and I want them to know that the Lord is there for them at this time because it is a time of reflection and memories. May God Bless You All.

A Day of Southern Remembrance 2015
“A Day of Southern Remembrance 2015”
April 26th was set aside years ago as Confederate Memorial Day. The day that Southerners who had relatives in the War Between the States could remember their lost loved ones. Many graves dot the countryside and battlefields from Pennsylvania to the south and west. Graves would also dot the P.O.W. camps near Chicago and Point Lookout. The South lost nearly 300,000 men to battle and disease during the war. The State of Georgia lost 18,253 dead.
Today we descendants of those who died in the war appreciate the chance to remember them in a correct fashion. The US Government began recognizing the Confederate dead as full American Soldiers in 1958 by act of Congress and signed by President Eisenhower. Think about the Confederate dead right here in Henry County, Georgia. Over 1,000 graves dot the landscape in Church cemeteries, private cemeteries and city cemeteries.
Governor Nathan Deal on January 5, 2015 signed a Proclamation declaring April as Confederate History Month and April 26th as Confederate Memorial Day. State Offices will observe the Day by closing on April 27, 2015.
Please take time to say a prayer for those men who fought on the Southern side in the War of wars. Here is a prayer: “Father in Heaven, I come to thee at this time to remember those who fought in the long ago Civil War who died for various reasons. Father, I pray for those who died on both the North and the South in a war that many of those who fought went to fight to save their homes. Lord, may they be friends today in Your presence in eternal glory on high. I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.”

So you Want To Run For Office
Here’s another tidbit on what to remember when running for political office. The main thing that the people of a city or county want to hear is about what is a candidate’s ideas on the essential services of everyday life. They want to know about plans for police, fire, water, sewerage, garbage, and the like. They want to make sure that the candidate has these basic needs in hand. Amenities always come second to essential services. It is something that I have always taught my children that you don’t have all the nice extras until the essential bills are paid and food is in the house. The same principle works in the real world. People worry about paying the rent, mortgage, electric bills, gas bills, water bills, and taxes. And they worry about making sure their family is fed and safe.
These citizens all have one thing in common they are seeking life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. If the candidate only discusses amenities and pushes for pie in the sky then they don’t have life in their interests for the people. Then, they can’t push for things that will take years to build and expect personal liberty to not be effected. And everyone wants to be happy and the candidate cannot make everyone happy. As citizens who wish to become our policy makers they soon find out that the job is filled with pit falls and people who will take them down by watching their every move while in office. That is the right of the citizen to watch those who they elect to make sure they are doing what is best for the citizens and not placing themselves on a pedestal for their ego.
All candidates must remember that We the People are the government of this nation and of these communities. No one wants to be dictated to and the citizens will not put up with it. If they see themselves as some present from the great beyond to fix all problems and know all about everything involved then you have a pompous person who will only be there for self.
No one expects a candidate to be perfect. We are not perfect and we make mistakes in who we often elect because they wear one face and then the real person comes out after they are elected. People want to see truth and honesty for a change in politics and it can only be found by those sitting in those seats find in their hearts that they do make mistakes and show some honesty then the people will feel different and want to get out and vote and stop the voter apathy.
Over the years I have watched many people come and go in elected office in our community and have watched the mistakes they have made over and over again. There is a time and place for everything and if a person running for office cannot stop and talk with a constituent for a few minutes and listen to their problem without brandishing them then they do not need to seek a public office.
Politics can be an ugly thing and in our county over the years that has been the case on many occasion. But the key thing a candidate must remember is that they work for the people and not for their personal gratification. So, remember some of these few little tidbits about being a candidate for political office and look into yourselves if you are the person attempting to gain a political seat and see if you have the qualities that make a statesman a lady or gentleman and can have a thick skin in the process.
Dr. Mike Moon.

Some Don't Want The Poor In Henry County
Please post this Mr. Britt. I am Ryan Lester of Stockbridge and I currently live in an apartment and I am hoping to one day get my own home in Henry County. But I read something on a local blog that disturbed me greatly. With my finances and job as they are I can only afford a small home with a small lot. This person is talking about property values climbing, wanting larger homes built and he is speaking in a demanding demeanor. His arrogance about the homes saying they would become rental property for investors. He seems to be a snobbish person who wants nothing, but the ultra elite in this county and its cities. If there is not going to be homes that poorer families can buy and elderly couples can retire to then they should look for another county to move to where they will be appreciated. But the gall of this persons language toward the Quality Growth Council shows the intent of this arrogant person toward the poorer and less fortunate section
of our communities. My wife asked who this person is and I said I don’t know.

A Easter Story
Easter Story
Last year April on a Sunday we
took one of our "nowhere" drives. My husband
was quietly driving a back road. I was occupied
in the front passenger seat watching the scenery.
I noticed out of the corner of
my eye that my husband was straining to look out my
window. This startled me, since his eyes should have
been on the road in front of him. I asked him
what he was looking at out the windows, and he quietly
replied, "Nothing." His eyes went back to
the road in front of him. After a few minutes, I looked
over at my husband and noticed a tear. I asked
him what was wrong. This time he told me,
"I was just thinking about Pop and a story he had
once told me" Of course, because it
had to do with his Pop I wanted to know the story, so
I asked him to share it with me. He said, "When I
was about 8 years old, Pop and I were out fishing and
that's when he told me that the Pine trees know
when it is Easter.." I had no idea what he
meant by that, so I pressed him for more information.
He continued on... "The Pine trees start their
new growth in the weeks before Easter -- if you look
at the tops of the Pine trees two weeks before, you
will see the yellow shoots. As the days get
closer to Easter Sunday, the tallest shoot will branch
off and form a cross. By the time Easter Sunday
comes around, you will see that most of the Pine trees
will have small yellow crosses on all of the tallest
shoots."
I turned to look out the window and I couldn't
believe my eyes. It was a week before Easter,
and you could see all of the trees with the tall
yellow shoots stretching to Heaven. The tallest ones
shone in the sunlight like rows of tiny golden
crosses. MAY
GOD BLESS YOU AS YOU WATCH FOR THE CROSS

Putting Down American Veterans
On March 31, 2015, I attended the Stockbridge City Council Work meeting. I was on the agenda to request that on the April Council meeting they have a proclamation
to honor Confederate History and Heritage Month. I explained in my presentation that the Georgia General Assembly approved Senate Bill No. 27 and signed by the Governor Sonny Perdue.
This bill officially designating April permanently as Confederate History and Heritage Month. I provided some history of local people that were in the war. I and Dr. Mike Moon provided information on a Hospital that had 4 Union Veterans as well was limbs and still born children were laid to rest.
Near the end of the meeting citizens are allowed 3 min to speak. One person that got up to speak called himself Mr. Alexander, he has a FaceBook page called Because we care Henry County Atlanta South. He spoke about not liking the idea of honoring the Confederate Veterans because of the bad feelings that could be felt. He was concerned that in 2015 we still want to honor these people. He asked the City Council to think about it before they issue the Proclamation I had requested. I feel for poor Mr. Alexander, because he has failed to learn the true history of the Civil War and what led up to it. But what is more concerning to me is he is saying he does not support American Veterans. A man that does not want to support American Veterans that sits on the Zoning Advisory Board for Stockbridge. This is something I think Stockbridge needs to look in to. Normally I would ask is he that ignorant but I will not this time. I will ask is he that uneducated or does he just not care about public law?
U.S. Public Law 810, Approved by 17th Congress 26 February 1929
(45 Stat 1307 – Currently on the books as 38 U.S. Code, Sec. 2306)
This law, passed by the U.S. Congress, authorized the “Secretary of War to erect headstones over the graves of soldiers who served in the Confederate Army and to direct him to preserve in the records of the War Department the names and places of burial of all soldiers for whom such headstones shall have been erected.”
U.S. Public Law 85-425: Sec. 410 Approved 23 May 1958
(US Statutes at Large Volume 72, Part 1, Page 133-134)
The Administrator shall pay to each person who served in the military or naval forces of the Confederate States of America during the Civil War a monthly pension in the same amounts and subject to the same conditions as would have been applicable to such person under the laws in effect on December 31, 1957, if his service in such forces had been service in the military or naval forces of the United States.
Remarks: While this was only a gesture since the last Confederate veteran died in 1958, it is meaningful in that only forty-five years ago (from 2003), the Congress of the United States saw fit to consider Confederate soldiers as equivalent to U.S. soldiers for service benefits. This final act of reconciliation was made almost one hundred years after the beginning of the war and was meant as symbolism more than substantive reward.
Additional Note by the Critical History: Under current U.S. Federal Code, Confederate Veterans are equivalent to Union Veterans.
U.S. Code Title 38 – Veterans’ Benefits, Part II – General Benefits, Chapter 15 – Pension for Non-Service-Connected Disability or Death or for Service, Subchapter I – General, § 1501. Definitions: (3) The term “Civil War veteran” includes a person who served in the military or naval forces of the Confederate States of America during the Civil War, and the term “active military or naval service” includes active service in those forces.
Researched by: Tim Renick, Combined Arms Library Staff, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

Senior Researcher at the CRG Dr. Mike Moon will comment below.
It seemed that there was at least one person in the room at the Stockbridge City Council Work Session that was not listening. He said that I said that 36,000 blacks died for the Confederacy. I did not say that. I said that over 180,000 black soldiers served in the Union Army and that over 36,000 of them gave their lives for the Union. The Union was the United States Army not the Confederate. Either he was not listening or he is trying to start trouble. History is history and we cannot change what happened. It cannot just be rewritten or forgotten just because some want it that way. When this starts we go down a path of repeating what had come before.

The Peoples Voice Has Spoken
Here is something interesting for your blog Mr. Britt. It concerns a poll that was conducted by the Henry Daily Herald online edition. They asked the following:
1. Should the General Assembly decide the powers of the local government officials?
2. Should local residents decide the powers of the local government officials by a referendum?
The poll numbers so far show that two thirds of the people polled want a referendum on the issue. The numbers are 67.69% for a referendum and 32.31% for the legislature deciding. Seems like Governor Deal should have listened to the people of the county before he signed that HB 554. Also, looks like several people will be losing their jobs on a commission and in seats in the House and Senate over this one. They forgot about the people.

Forms Of Government 101
Here are the various forms of governments and the different sub political parties thereof to mull over. Thought it would be educational and not too hard to understand.
Liberals believe in government action to achieve equal opportunity and equality for all. It is the duty of the government to alleviate social ills and to protect civil liberties and individual and human rights. Believe the role of the government should be to guarantee that no one is in need. Liberal policies generally emphasize the need for the government to solve problems.
Conservatives believe in personal responsibility, limited government, free markets, individual liberty, traditional American values and a strong national defense. Believe the role of government should be to provide people the freedom necessary to pursue their own goals. Conservative policies generally emphasize empowerment of the individual to solve problems.
Independents are those who vote for candidates, measures, etc., in accordance with his or her own judgment and without regard to the endorsement of, or the positions taken by, any party. They want to be not dependent or contingent upon something else for existence, operation, etc.
Socialists are those who support the political philosophy of socialism, which is a governmental system that advocates community ownership and control of all lands and businesses rather than individual ownership. As opposed to a capitalist, a socialist advocates a society based on cooperation rather than competition .
Libertarians believe in free thought and freedom from government inclusion in personal lives. The core doctrine of libertarianism begins with the recognition that people have certain natural rights and that deprivation of these rights is immoral. Among these natural rights are the right to personal autonomy and property rights, and the right to the utilization of previously unused resources. These two basic assumptions form the foundation of all libertarian ideals.
Communism is a socioeconomic system structured upon the common ownership of the means of production and characterized by the absence of social classes, money, and the state; as well as a social, political and economic ideology and movement that aims to establish this social order.
Fascism is a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.
Authoritarianism is a leadership style in which a leader dictates policies and procedures, decides what goals are to be achieved, and directs and controls all activities without any meaningful participation by the subordinates.
Monarchy is a government or state headed by a monarch: called absolute when there is no limitation on the monarch's power, constitutional when there is such limitation.
Moderates are those in politics who are opposed to radical or extreme views or measures. They align themselves in the middle.
Progressives favoring or advocating progress, change, improvement, or reform, as opposed to wishing to maintain things as they are, especially in political matters.
The encourage making progress toward better conditions; employing or advocating more enlightened or liberal ideas, new or experimental methods, etc.
Anarchy a state of society without government or law and political and social disorder due to the absence of governmental control.
Republic a state or nation in which the supreme power rests in all the citizens entitled to vote (the electorate) and is exercised by representatives elected, directly or indirectly, by them and responsible to them.
The above Republic is supposed to be our form of government. But as you look at all the forms of government preceding this one you will find that many of them are integrated into our form of government. Thought this would be a good thing to let folks look over. Have a nice afternoon.
Dr. Mike Moon.

It’s Time to Move Forward
“It’s Time to Move Forward”
Henry County is the county that has missed many chances over the years, but those can be found if we try as citizens to move forward toward the betterment of our community. Now is the time to extend hands across the divide and work for a compromise to make our communities better places to live and to leave our eyes open to possibly better ideas for the future. I have been in Henry County for just over 40 years now. We bought property here to build a home in 1967 in the Luella area. Henry County is the home of my great great great grandparents Matthew and Evilene Goss who moved here in 1835 in the area between Bear Creek (Hampton) and what would become Locust Grove. This county means a great deal to me. In grade school, we lived in the southern part of DeKalb County before moving here full time.
But by looking at the past I can see a bright future if we plan it correctly and give the citizens chances to truly put their feelings into what is happening. I can seen in the years to come the Norfolk Southern Rail Yard planned for the Bethlehem Rd. area along Hwy 42. This yard will take in containers from ships at the Port of Savannah and place them on trucks to be routed in all directions for the destinations they are planned to fill warehouses for distribution.
We have the opportunity for our history to bring in dollars to the county coffers if we plan that well. There are sites from the Native American Period, the Civil War and areas where historical people have lived in our communities. This can bring in tourism and trade that will help local restaurants, hotels and stores. We are coming upon the 200th anniversary of this county in 2021. That is not that many years away now and now is the time to begin planning for this event.
I personally have discussed with other associates about the Orion Space Project that is being developed for NASA. They will need better and improved tracking systems and locations to locate them. Henry County could benefit from this project that will mean millions of dollars to the county. But that is only in the discussions as this will be something that is likely 5-10 years down the road.
Given our airport at Hampton near the raceway the airport is being lengthened and can be a new hub for air traffic and for commerce. That is something that can be worked on as time continues to move on. The airport authority is well on the path to creating a viable aircraft site for our county.
I can see something like a “Gone with the Wind” theme park in the Hampton-Lovejoy area that could benefit not only Henry County, but Clayton County as well. There are several avenues of how this can be planned and appropriated if it is worked correctly and with the right people to be behind the project.
We can invite movie studios to our County to use some of our large empty warehouses for sound stages. They can make it work for them and bring money to our area as well. This would fill an empty space and make Henry County part of the film industry in the process. This is a good idea that maybe can be brought to fruition.
The main course of commerce will be along the I-75 corridor through the county. It has built up along the path already, but this will continue to grow in the coming years bringing in fine dining and places to shop that we don’t already have here to do. It would be nice to see some even more fine restaurants locate here and for some good places for people to shop.
I remember telling people in the county years ago that we needed a flea market that would bring in people. Well, they helped to bring in Peachtree Peddlers in 1993 and look at the size of the complex today with people shopping their from all over. It has turned into a success and a success for Henry County in the process.
Let’s all be in the process of keeping our roadways clean. Adopt sections of roads and pick up the trash that looks so bad on our roads. We don’t want to be known as the trash county. And while we are cleaning up our roadways let’s clean and make our old cemeteries look good. It’s the right thing to do.
We have potential here for something even better than what we have today if it is planned and worked out correctly. We need to listen to the older generation of this county who have been here since their youth and don’t push them aside because they have created the foundation of this county and it is wrong to alienate them from the process. Give them a chance and let’s give Henry County and our towns a chance to blossom. Thank you all for reading.

It's that time of year again
It's that time of year again.
I received a phone call from a friend in the Windsong Subdivision off Eagles Landing Parkway.
He was telling me that last night he heard a sound like a baby crying so he stepped out on his deck
only to see a panther in his back yard. He said he yelled at it and it ran in to the woods. I told him that he is in a good place to see
panthers this time of year. You have Rum Creek,Reeves Creek joining Little Cotton Indian Creek. The panthers travel along the creeks and water ways
this time of year going back North to their Summer homes. I looked today in my fresh tilled garden and I found tracks as I did last year 10 feet from
my back deck. They are looking for food so be very careful leaving dog and cat food out. If you see one get inside as soon as you can. If you must get out after dark take a flashlight
and have it turned on it will help deter them from coming after you.

Commissioners Messed Up Again
This article should sum up things as we currently have it here in Henry County. First, I would like to extend my honest and heartfelt apologies to Rep. Andy Welch and Rep. Brian Strickland. Gentleman, you were caught in the middle of a fray here in the county by the commissioners asking you all for clarification of the duties of the commissioners, the chairman and the county manager. Thank you for being able to sit and take a beating from the constituents, but the beating should have been toward the commissioners who decided not to show up. Only the chairman was there. The commissioners by giving so much duty to the county manager they have taken themselves out of the governing business and put in a hired employee to run the county. Think about it gentlemen you must have to get a FOIA to get information from the county manager. What does that say to you? If we are going to have a county manager run everything and make the hard decisions, then we
don’t need a BOC. That might save a few dollars in the coffers. But the people elected you to govern, not the county manager who will take charge and leave you with an empty poke. Elections cost a lot of money here in this county and there would be a savings of a good deal without the election process. But that is not how our Charter was written and you have to learn to take control and govern. If the county manager doesn’t like it fire him. You hired him and you can fire him. You all effectively took the process of this decision from yourselves and the people. The Legislature can only listen or write what is asked of them. They are not to be scapegoats as the case has become. Andy Welch and Brian Strickland are two good gentlemen who have only the best intentions. I know I said I would keep my mouth shut, but I pay taxes here and I am going to have my say when I finally have all the facts at hand. But if this continues on the path that
it has been set upon there are going to be some very hard feelings between friends and neighbors here in this county that may not be able to repair. So, contact those commissioners and let them listen to the griping because they are the ones who asked for all this, not the other way around.
Dr. Mike Moon.

5th Annual Bubbles of Love Event comes to Locust Grove for the 1st time!!!
Join me Jessica Patton as the 5th Annual Bubbles of Love Event comes to Locust Grove for the 1st time as I partner up with the City of Locust Grove and Locust Grove Day! A day filled with fun for all including great food, vendors, activities, arts and crafts, live music and so much more! Blowing bubbles of love is celebrated across the globe at noon to represent that all children deserve to love and receive love from all parents, great grandparents, grandparents, siblings, aunts and uncles and their extended families. This event takes place as part of Parental Alienation Awareness Day which Sonny Perdue signed and declared for the State of GA in March 2008 to only have Governor Nathan Deal in January 2015 declare it for an entire week! Mayor Robert Price will announce the signing of the same Proclamation acknowledging April 25th as Parental Alienation Awareness Day in Locust Grove as well as present me with a framed copy! Don't miss out on this very important day for the City of Locust Grove, Bubbles of Love and Parental Alienation Awareness Day. Bubbles are provided free to everyone so just bring the kids and family :)
If you would like to donate to make this event as special as it can be for our children please send me a message. Every little bit helps!! Thanks!
This Bubbles of Love Event is sponsored by Jessica Patton with the help of Mayor Robert Price and the City of Locust Grove!

Earth We Have A Problem
In late 2014 Dr. Mike Moon and myself started gathering information on the Earthquakes that we had seen a uptick in. For one month I gathered all Earthquake information for quakes 3.0 and larger around the world. In the one month I gathered information on 360 Earthquakes. The main thing we were looking at was the depth of the quakes. The depth that stood out to us was 10Km.
Out of the 360 quakes there were 94 quakes at 10Km deep, that's 26.11% of the quakes in that one month was at 10Km deep. Why is this important? Because 10Km is 1% of the Earths crust, but that one percent is solid. So why is the solid part of the crust moving so much. We know that the core of the Earth is a solid Iron with a liquid outer core. If something is going on with the outer liquid core it would put pressure on the outer crust and cause the quakes to occur. One problem could be that we are in a time that the Earth's magnetic field is in a time of change. It has been documented the the North pole has shifted in the past 200 years. This could weaken part of the core and cause it to wobble internally displacing the liquid core and putting strain on the crust.
Another idea is the core it's self is starting to cool and become unstable. Earthquakes happen everyday and sometimes we feel them and sometimes we don't. For you reading this in Henry County, Georgia here is a little history for you. One of the strongest Earthquakes to happen in Georgia was in Henry County down at the Snapping Shoals in the South East part of the County in 1915.
A lot of people don't understand that the Earth is a living thing and it is always on the move.
Alfred Britt
Below Dr. Mike Moon who has a PhD in physics on both the Earth and space will write about a few other possibilities as to what is causing these shallow Earthquakes to happen.
Let us take a look at astronomical features or anomalies that can likely effect earthquake activity on the earth. As many know we are in the period of solar max and we have been bombarded by several rounds of coronal mass ejections from flares on the suns surface. Along with these events are waves of disturbance that when reaching the earth strike points on the particular side of the earth facing the event. These events have subtle changes on the earths upper crust, thus, the shallow earthquakes in the 10 km depth range. S=CME/E x T (S being the sun; CME coronal mass ejection; E the earth and T is time.)
And there has been the discovery of the phenomenon that short-term anomalous fluctuations appeared in residuals of astronomical time and latitude observations before earthquakes and the progress of related researches carried out for many years. The
relations between the anomalous variations of time and latitude residuals of astronomical time and latitude instruments in different regions and the earthquakes around these instruments as well as the characteristics of residuals’ anomalous variations have been analyzed. The significance of the anomalous fluctuations in residuals of astronomical time and latitude caused by the anomalous variations of the local plumb line before earthquake and detecting the vertical variation with astronomical time and latitude observations as well as the importance of carrying out further researches are imperative.
Another factor are the larger outer planets when they make their closest approach to the sun and earth. These events only happen every couple of hundred years, but they do occur. This puts further strain on the earth causing it to wobble or bulge thus affecting the upper crust.
Now another problem that has been shown is that there is a definite weakness in the crust in the area of the SW Pacific around Indonesia and Polynesia. There have been scores of earthquakes in this area in the 5km level and on multiple times in a solar day. This area is where the very large quake of 2004 that generated the large tsunami that killed so many in the Indian Ocean area. The satellite imagery of the area indicates that the whole region is bulging and to release this type of pressure will come through the many volcanoes in the region. The ring of fire is very active and will likely to become more active in the months ahead.
The measurements from the inner core of the earth show a bulge from the core toward the surface. This has already caused ice to melt and break off of Antarctica. Global Warming had nothing to do with this process as detected by instruments that show the land below warming from inside. This will continue until the bulge subsides within.
The earth is going through various cycles that show geomagnetic changes that can effect sounds from the earth. Much of the unusual booms that have been recorded around the world are coming from the earth itself. It is known that the North Pole or true north has been drifting towards Siberia for some time now. It has caused problems with air travel and ships at sea having to make adjustments to their instruments so that they will arrive at their destinations instead of off course.
We will continue to monitor the earthquake activity to see how things progress in the coming months. We will also explain later how the area we live in here in Georgia is prone to quakes of smaller size due to subduction of the land beneath us. Thank you for your time and Mr. Britt and I appreciate the opportunity to work on this venture.
