In Henry County, it has always been a problem about the desecration of the old family cemeteries of the people who came here and forged a community out of the wilds of Old Georgia that had its early inhabitants of the native Americans who we bought land from to expand the growth of the European people moving westward.  On part of this land in Henry, was the White and Foster families.  They forged farms and crops to create a life for themselves.   Fast forward to the 21st Century and a developer decided to build a subdivision on the land owned by the Whites and Fosters.  They knew of the cemetery close to the old Dutchtown Rd and they removed 35 graves from that site to the Hasiten Cemetery on McGarity Rd.  It wasn’t right to move those graves then just so people could play golf.  No one really knew how many family members or even possibly their slaves were buried on this property. That was in 2004.  Let’s move forward to 2025 and a nice couple bought a lot in the subdivision to build their dream home.  Low and behold they found a cemetery on the land.  A study was done and it appears there are at least 16 more graves located here.  Now this brings to mind how many homes at the end of the cul-de-sac are built over graves that were not located.  Again they are going to move these new graves to the cemetery on McGarity Rd with the others already moved there.  It is sad that people cannot even rest after death; they have to be moved to accommodate greed and the lust for money.  They made a movie 40 years ago named “Poltergeist” about a subdivision built over a cemetery.  Instead of moving the graves they just moved the headstones.  And the departed became unhappy with homes built over them.  Henry County values for the dead are pitiful.  They allowed a church to build over a slave cemetery about 17 years ago in the Stockbridge area and many wondered how that would play out.  It is shameful how the resting places of those who came before us are treated in Henry County.  It makes one wonder how those who let these things happen for a dollar can afford to sleep at night and how will they answer for this on judgment day.

Henry County Continues the Apathy

It has come and gone that in this election only 9% of the registered voters in Henry County turned out to vote.  There are over 171,000 registered to vote in the county.  This is pathetic.  It continues the trend of the last several years of elections that only a handful turn out to elect or vote on decisions that cost the taxpayers in the pocket.   There is an old saying that goes like this, “you get what you want and deserve.”  There is a new tax for roads that will go to the hands of those who do not know how to handle the taxpayer's money in the county.  Those few who voted handed them the key to the treasure chest.  Those who voted in the municipal elections also had a low turnout of just 9% and they have put people either back in office or those who have strings attached to them that run back to the underlying problem in the county.  It appears those in the county who don’t vote have no feelings about their own lives or the lives of their loved ones.  It begs the question as to why register to vote if you don’t exercise your right to do so?

Enjoy what you get as things will continue down a path of disorganization for the foreseeable future.

The city of Stockbridge has voted to spend $30.5 million of the T-Splost at a recent meeting of the council.  Remember some of these very same members complain regularly about the road conditions in the area and how slow it is to get around in the area.  According to the breakdown of projects, they will put $4 million on the Rock Quarry widening project and $2 million on the Rock Quarry Rd extension that has been discussed for years.  The other $24.5 million dollars is for trails, sidewalks and pedestrian bridges.  It seems that foot traffic is more important than highway traffic.  Complain about not being able to get around in the area and then give the bulk of the money to foot traffic.  It must be a sign of the times they feel they can get somewhere on foot quicker than by car.  You just can’t make these things up about these people.  This sounds just like those people on capitol hill in Washington, D.C. who love their pork barrel projects that they include in infrastructure bills.  Hope you people are awake because while you were sleeping the project money to fix the road problems was allocated to local pork.  Remember this while you sit in traffic and maybe you will remember it at the polls next election.

I often wonder how people make it through their lives without just driving themselves off a cliff. People are calling for us to boycott companies because some of the people that run them have different views as they do. They think by not buying a company’s product they will hurt them and make them change their minds. Well, they are as smart as a turd in a septic tank thinking it is in an oasis. First of all, not all of the employees of the company may not have the same views like the ones that run it. So you may be hurting people that don’t hold your views that work for you and that is stupid. 

Let's take Coca-Cola. It is just a stack of papers that allows it to have property and that is it. The company is so large in scope the few that will boycott will not even make a blip on their bottom line. So why deprive yourself of a product you like on its own to try and change a few that run the company that will have no effect on your cause? 

I have seen so many people call for boycotts because the new President is not who they wanted. Guess what you lost the election so get over it and move on. I don’t like some things he has and will do but I do hope he does a good job for America to help us all. We all need to come together for the betterment of our nation as a whole. To all that have asked all your friends to boycott companies and the Democratic President and his policies. I have one question for you: if you don’t like him or his policies he has done I take it you returned your $1,400 to the Government, if not you are a hypocrite or as my mom would say “A Two-Faced Son Of A Bitch”. So change your diaper and get with the program.

SPLOST V A Clear Attack on the Poor and Working Class

While listening to those of the elite class speak about the need for a SPLOST continuation, it has come to many that this program of continued taxation for those who have an agenda are clearly working to put the poor and working-class people out of the county.  They are already working behind the scenes with a blight ordinance to get rid of people who live in what they deem as a blighted area.  Many poor and hard-working people live in homes that are considered beneath the upper crust of people.  Many old residents live in them on social security and barely get by and cannot afford to fix those homes that were their dream in their prime of life.  Those in the elite class do not care and would rather see those residents put away in a home for the elderly away from them.   They want to see those homes bulldozed and making a way for new businesses, apartments, and one half million dollar homes.   They want more tax money because these elderly, retired and disabled citizens don’t pay as much property tax money as those in the business and elitist homes pay.  That is why most of those you see in the public promoting SPLOST V are from this group of elite Henry 
Countians.  Vote NO to SPLOST V  to send a message to that elite class that those elderly and disabled people deserve a home of their own just like them.

The Henry County Board of Commissioners recently voted to not approve the Bethlehem Road exit for I-75 on the proposed SPLOST V list for the ARC.  The Board had it put on the SPLOST IV ballot about five years ago.  Now they don’t want to follow through on it.  This is why you don’t need to continue a SPLOST program because they are sending your money down a rabbit hole to nowhere.

Even Commissioner Gary Barham made the following statement at the meeting:

“Gary Barham noted that funding for the interchange was clearly defined on the last SPLOST program approved by voters several years ago. “We can’t ask voters to approve SPLOST V if we can’t follow through with SPLOST IV projects,” he said.”

The three voting block commissioners who have their own agenda and like to travel to Washington for training for African-American politicians made sure to block the vote by voting against the interchange.  Little do they know that Norfolk Southern who owns a vast amount of property in that area plans to build an inland container port there.  This is a Federal project and when the railroad wants something they will get it regardless of the petty commissioners.  That interchange will go in and someone’s tax dollars will pay for it.  

Those who are handling your money on the BoC cannot be trusted to open an umbrella much less than to handle your money that is so hard to earn.  VOTE NO ON SPLOST V.  This has to end.

Reason For Voting No To SPLOST

"Here is an example of why the voters should not approve a SPLOST V in Henry County this fall.   The article makes it clear about the BOC wanting to reallocate the money already voted upon by the citizens of the county for the Bethlehem Rd interchange on I-75.  This is the same interchange that will help the flow of traffic as Southern Railway builds the inland rail yard for the Port of Savannah.   The same commissioners who have been causing issues in the county are the ones who want to move the money.  Read closely as you will see the 5th district commissioner admitting they have moved SPLOST monies before which is illegal.  The prudent citizen can see that they are likely wanting this money moved to the convention site at Stockbridge near I-675 and I-75.  Read the article below from the Henry Times Newspaper."

  Will a new interchange on I-75 between McDonough and Locust Grove ever happen?
Although the process has been in the works for some time, a few members of the Henry County Board of Commissioners have their doubts that it will ever come to pass and they decided to not spend some $4 million earmarked for design work on the project, saying that the money could be better spent in other areas.
The problem with that reasoning is the money in question comes from SPLOST funding and its use is strictly limited. Other commissioners who want the project design to proceed stressed that the will of the voters who passed the SPLOST referendum, with this item clearly included on the project list, should be respected.
The vote at the May 7 regular Board of Commissioners meeting was to table the issue so more information could be provided in a workshop setting.
 Commissioner Dee Clemmons was the most vocal in opposition to moving the design forward, saying that past history shows there is no guarantee the state or federal government will follow through on the project and she didn’t want this kind of money spent with such uncertainty. She said there were several examples of this with regard to state highways in the county that should have received improvement funding by now but kept getting pushed back on the calendar.
 “We cannot be fiscally responsible as a board if we spend $4 million without knowing for sure [if the project will ultimately be approved],” she said.
 Clemmons’ position was shared by Commissioner Vivian Thomas, who also said the money can be better spent elsewhere.
A recent letter from the Federal Highway Administration states that the proposed interchange project near Bethlehem Road is “acceptable” and could happen pending completion of a required environmental process and placement on the Transportation Improvement Project list (TIP).
But Commissioner Bruce Holmes said the predecessor of one of the officials named on that letter told him several years ago the interchange would never happen because the result would be multiple interchanges too close together.
“Until we get clarification from the FHWA that they will fund it, we should redirect these funds,” he said.
When county manger Cheri Hobson-Matthews pointed out that it is a Tier 1 capital project in the SPLOST program and money cannot simply be redirected, Holmes replied, “We reallocate SPLOST money all the time.” But Matthews reiterated that, by law, the funds must be spent only on certain listed capital projects.
The initial allocation for this project was $5.5 million, according to SPLOST transportation director Roque Romero. A feasibility study was conducted looking at four possible locations between the current interchanges at Hwy. 155 and Bill Gardner Parkway. The results of that study were approved by the Georgia Department of Transportation.
Romero noted that the design work would be done in phases, with the first step actually costing about $500,000. The rest would not be spent if the project didn’t get the go-ahead, but it will be dead for certain if nothing is done, he said.
 “You’ve got to start somewhere,” said Romero. “If you don’t start today, you’ll be further behind.”
Board chair June Wood said the design should go forward.
“This county is so far behind,” she said. “We need to come together as one voice and advocate for our priorities.”
Wood added that the project ties into a regional concept and will help the county as well as the Atlanta area. “This is funding that the voters have already voted for.”
Commissioner Gary Barham agreed. “I don’t see how we can sit on this and not move forward,” he said.
Clemmons said that Henry County could do everything it needs to do in these areas with funding from a T-SPLOST if it were placed before the voters. She did not mention the fact that a regional T-SPLOST was soundly defeated at the ballot box a few years ago and citizens have been very vocal in opposition to another one since then.   Thomas made the motion to table the issue, directing county staff “to prepare a complete workshop” to study the details. It is not bad enough that traffic can be horrendous on Miller's Mill Road, now the Henry County  Board of Commissioners has decided to make the situation worse. They okayed the rezoning of the property on Miller's Mill Road between Berry Hill Airport and Moseley Park.  Hundreds of homes and condominiums are coming to the site.  Think about when they are having ball tournaments at Moseley Park and the added traffic that brings along with the traffic from these homes and you have a recipe for disaster.  The schools are already overburdened with students and these added homes will bring another load of children upon the area schools that will not be able to handle them.  The 4th district commissioner who pushed to get this development in the area said that it is the school's responsibility to make sure there are enough school's.  Spoken like a true democrat.  Yes, go up on school taxes on your homes to build more school space for more and more children.  Your tax dollars being shoved into a draw with a bottomless pit.  She will be our next ambassador to outer space.  No one on the BoC was listening to the public who were there to speak on the building of this ant hill.  They already had their minds made up.  They didn't give a tinker's damn what those residents had to say.  And with children in the audience, it should be called child abuse to watch their political leaders create such a debacle.  The BoC is nothing more than a yes person for the developers and big money.  Many have wondered how much they are making on the people from outside coffers.  Maybe a federal investigation into their checking and savings accounts is in order.  Especially, the one that cannot sit up straight in his chair.  That is nothing more than a rude human being saying I don't care about you as long as you pay and I will be glad to soak you every year day in and day out.  Henry County has turned itself into a wasteland of greed and piss poor planning.  Traffic, crime and lower property values are coming.  And the chance for a plane accident will always loom over those homes.  And do anyone at the BoC care? That answer is no.

It was apparent watching from the audience that the Henry County Board of Commissioners on January 22, 2019 declared war on the poor families of Henry County.  The county attorney made his presentation about creating a new board to oversee an "urban redevelopment authority" to take care of what they might perceive as "blighted" areas in the county.  They have probably been looking for a way to remove the people who live in mobile homes, poor areas around the west side of McDonough and other areas.  If a company wishes to own a piece of land now they will have a way to remove any obstacles that might be there.   This is the kind of action that causes the deaths of people who are barely hanging as their lives are not as well kept as those people who take your homes from you.  There are a lot of elderly, disabled and poor people who live the best they can and now they have found a way to make sure they go away.  Even small struggling family businesses could be declared as a blight in an area because they don't fit. The problem is a lot of these people were in Henry County first.  The new built up around them..  But those in power don't seem to give a damn about them they only see money signs for tax dollars.  And they proved that by adding more houses and townhomes along Jodeco Road after many people were against it.  The fact is those on the board who voted for this project had already made up their minds before they even sat down in their chairs.   Henry County is fast turning into a seething pit of waste and dereliction of duty.  But as usual the poor of the community will be the ones to suffer at the hands of unlitigated greed.  They have pissed on the poor for so long and now they have found a way to bury them.  In the US Constitution, the document stresses that a man's home is his castle and it doesn't say how large or condition that home might represent.  But those who pretend to lead only follow what they are told to do by those in the background who have an endless stream of money in their pockets.

Yes, Henry County residents we are going to get screwed and tattooed all at the same time thanks to the Henry County Board of Commissioners and County Manager.  They apparently have no feelings for the poor, the working people, the elderly or the well to do.  Since, they raised the assessments on our homes and did not lower the millage rate, which they could have done so, our taxes will be higher.  They apparently have no compassion for the citizenry.  The tax digest has gone up considerably in the Henry County and they are going to make good use of it.  Think about this folks.  If you own a mobile home, stick built home or even rent a place you will pay.  Those in the mobile homes will pay in some cases more than the home might be worth.  The stick built homes will definitely see a sizeable increase in their property taxes.  And even if you rent, your landlord will be paying a premium on the property tax since they do not live in the home and guess what, they will pass that along to the person renting the property.  The only people doing well in the scenario are those people who can't seem to handle money.  And we definitely do not want to hear about them being conservative.  They have no idea what the word means.  They are liberal spending politicians and those that carry the moniker of Republican are just closet Democrats and some of the Democrats are Socialists.  Spend, spend, spend and spend some more like there is no tomorrow.  While you sit in traffic on I-75, Hwy 42, Hwy 155 and other roads just remember that they will only be doing token work on any roads for the foreseeable future.  You feel that screw tightening.   And with the rise in property taxes on the homeowners the Atlanta Motor Speedway and other large properties will be getting a tax break from the county.  Yes, folks while you go to work and eck out an existence and those on Social Security and Disability hang on to life, you will be paying the line share of the taxes.  Feel that screw now.  Yes, a business that takes in multi-million dollars per year will get a break.  Bless their little hearts.  No wonder Henry County has been changing as of late.  Those moving here think it is something different and it is nothing more different than what they just left and could be worse than where they moved from to here.  The bottom line is that the whole thing sucks.  And now they are out pining for SPLOST V.  Yes, just think they want to extend that 1 cent sales tax to cover their slush fund on parks and things that the county has too much of today.  And there is even talk that they want to possibly have a 1 cent tax for bus and train service.  Think about sitting in the already horrendous traffic behind that big fat bus.  And train service would be years down the road at best.  They are over five years behind in sending the train to Lovejoy.  Yes, the politicians promise everything under the sun to get elected and then they go off like misers figuring ways to get more money out of the people.  If they reduced some of the bureaucracy in the county that would save a lot of money.  Plus, quit buying properties that will cost the taxpayers for years to come and their children as well.  Think about how much money goes from your taxes to the Henry County BoC, BoE and the Henry County Water and Sewerage Authority.  They take in more than most of the other counties in metro Atlanta.  And what do you really have to show for it.  They will take this county down the slippery slope to a place they will never be able to crawl out of in the decades to come.  As things continue to change more of the people who built the county are dying or leaving and that will leave a whole new face on the county that will not have the same feelings as those who worked so hard to get the things they have today.  But remember that screw in the back.  That is your destiny.

State of the Union Address

The Democrats in Washington, D.C. showed their true self at the State of the Union Address.  As President Trump spoke and talked about various issues most of them were very disrespectful to the President and the people of the United States.  They would not stand up for border security, the American flag, fighting opioid abuse, the national anthem, bonuses for working Americans, the idea of low black unemployment, merit-based immigration, Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, 2.4 million jobs created, in God we trust, and many of them were seen on video playing candy crush on their phones.  There is an old saying in our nation that we get what we pay for and in their cases, they need to be fired.  They have no respect for our men and women in the military, our police and firefighters, and our hard-working Americans who go to work daily to feed their families.  These leeches are there to get a paycheck and to cause trouble back home across this land.  They have shown to the people of this nation that they are nothing more than bottom feeders who need to go and find something else to do instead of making things worse for those who are trying to make America stronger, safer and better.

Henry County Ambulance Fees May Increase

It looks like Henry County is mulling over another increase in the fees to transport patients in ambulances.  They are wanted a sizeable increase on the heals of a 2012 increase.  This will put a sure burden on the poor and those with no insurance.  One can picture it now a patient is being transported to the hospital having a heart attack or stroke and the paramedics learn they have no money or insurance.  They pull along the side of the road and place the patient on the ground and drive away. 

 

This could bring about a new wave of transportation for the sick or injured who have little money.  There could be a Uber service set up using pick up trucks with covers on the back.  They can stock it with first aid, oxygen tanks they can get, and go on eBay and buy a portable defibrillator.  Call the Uber driver for a fraction of the cost of the paramedics and a need fixed.  Now that is the American way to take care of a problem and make a little money also.

Your Property Taxes

The Henry County Board of Commissioners recently voted to keep the millage rate for the county the same.  There was talk that they might go up 1 millage point as requested by the staff.  But the problem is that you and I will still be paying more this year for property taxes because the assessments for the properties in the county have gone up this year.  Thus, if the commissioners didn't want to raise the property tax they should have rolled back the current millage rate so that it would reflect the same tax amount as last year.  They all knew the assessment values went up and knew that it was a sure thing for a property tax increase.    

The Henry County Board of Education also met recently to say they would leave their millage rate at the maximum of 20 mills.  This will generate over $7 million for the BoE.  The BoC will get just over $5 million dollars more and the total will be $12 million for the county as a whole in an increase this year.  The BoE could have rolled back the millage rate as well to help, but they all voted for it to remain the same.

The increase in taxes is going to hurt everyone, not just one sector.  And this once again shows that Henry County needs some real companies with high paying jobs to come to the county to help offset some of these taxes that the homeowners are saddled with on their backs.  At over 38 mills the county is one of the highest taxed counties in the state.  There is more tax money coming in through SPLOST, unseen taxes in the fuel you buy, the food you eat and the products you purchase daily.  And the BoC is proposing to put another tax on you through something called T-SPLOST for roads to be fixed.  If they start this tax it will never end.  With all the regulations, taxes, resolutions, fees and other things that bring in money for the municipalities and the county, one would think that Henry County would be more affluent than it really is in the eyes of others.  It is just merely a county being filled with multi family homes, and warehouses many of which remain empty.  You would also think with all the money going into the school system that the county would have one of the highest rated school systems in the state.  But they have 31 out of 53 schools that are failing and that is not a good sign when the funds are there.

You hear people coming to the county that have no idea what is happening here that say they want and they want, but they are only going to get what the people have to put in the bank account for the system.  Henry County is rapidly becoming a county doomed to have too much of the same thing over and over.  Too much fast food, too many strip malls with the same stores, and too many parks that have to be maintained.  Yet, the county wants to grow more and more by bringing in people by the thousands.  Somewhere it would be wise to put a moratorium on new homes and businesses until things are truly fixed in the infrastructure.  But the blame game has been going for some time.  It was those people's fault from 20 years ago that didn't plan right for what has happened.  No, they didn't plan right, but people came anyway.  

Look for your property assessments to go up again next year.  That is a cash cow that the BoC and BoE don't want to lose.  And don't forget the water department they get 2 mills of your property tax on your bill each year.  Yes, it is the most taxed place in the region currently and what do you really have to show for it.  Monstrous traffic, ill people, crime and poor services.  Stockbridge won't even put together it's own police force with it's surplus funds.  They would rather spend it on trails and walking paths.   

Remember also, that crime follows more people in the population.  That is a given fact.   When the crime rate continues to rise it will deter good companies from wanting to build in Henry County.  They need to put a sign as you enter the county that this is the highest taxed county in this area to remind people while they wait in traffic.  T-SPLOST is not the answer, but halting the influx of people would give the county an opportunity to catch up with the infrastructure.  But they won't.  They want that extra money.  Remember this when election time rolls around once again and these folks want to keep their jobs.  Find those that will want to be good stewards of your money and do the right things for the people.  But from the election results of the last decade, it is a poor chance that things will change.

Henry County is poised for a possible takeover.  A video that will be linked below will show that the Nash Farm Museum closure has been planned for quite some time.  The second district commissioner who made the video calls herself a community entrepreneur who can fix the community problems.  The biggest problem she sees in the community is childhood obesity.  If she is going to try and fix this problem she must first realize that a lot of people consider the word obesity as a slander against people who are overweight just as she feels the “N word” is to her.  The largest problems we have in the county are crime, low paying jobs and a decaying infrastructure.  

She claims she wants to turn Nash Farm Park into a farm to teach children how to eat properly and what it is like to raise animals for food.  This has all the markings of Michelle Obama and her ideas on how to feed our children and that program was taken out because of the poor nutritional value of the food.  She mentions the Civil War Museum, but the way she talked about it the facility would still be there.  But yet as we know now she wants the museum closed because she herself is racist against the Confederate Heritage.  Yet in this video she says she wants everyone to be included and uses the word diversity.  Well, diversity means those people with Confederate Heritage must be included.  

We have learned that the second district representative for the recreation department is a friend of hers.  This individual runs a farm less than a mile from Nash Farm Park and could be expanded across the wetland property from his farm to the Nash Farm.  This shows collusion to rape the citizens of Henry County of their money and land for benefit of an individual that has indicated they provide hala meat for the Muslim holidays such as Ramadan.  If you are a true American and remember what happened on September 11, 2001 we must be very careful in dealing with certain people of that religion.  This I believe would be a matter of National Security and the citizens as well as the government must keep an eye on this very situation.  To protect our way of life we must come together for the common good of Henry County and her citizens or we face a takeover that would include drastic changes to the way we live, raise our children, and look to a future that is sustainable. Because if we allow this to continue we face extinction.  This is the same communist idea that the Russians had in the early 1960’s to take us without firing a shot.  And when all is said and done, we feel that right will be the deliverer of the best for our community.

There is a problem in District 2 of Henry County

There is a problem in District 2 of Henry County.

  The person appointed to the parks and rec dept for that district is attached to the commissioner for that district.  They have an interest in the parkland.  Also, they sell meats to the Muslim community for Ramadan and other Muslim holidays.  They are also connected to another Muslim producer out of  South Fulton County.  I would not say that all Muslims are bad, but never forget what happened on September 11, 2001.  This should remain in the back of everyone's mind.  It was predicted that when a black took over that district that the Nash Farm would come under attack for the Confederate Museum and the flags.  They cannot stand real history and will promote their own agenda as attested to by her comment that she will reopen the museum to be more inclusive.  She will make a mockery to those who died at the Battle for Lovejoy Station.  Recall her, and or vote her out of office for doing something that was against her duties as a commissioner.  She is not supposed to act on something she is to have the county manager to do so.  Overstepping her authority to appease her friends.  Sounds like another racial coup.

This year the citizens are going to the polls on November 8th to elect a new Chairman of the Board of Commissioners for Henry County, Georgia. The candidate who can relate to the working class and Christian based public is the write-in candidate Mr. Don Henderson. Mr. Henderson speaks from the heart and is a very devout family man and Christian. He is from the mountains of North Carolina and has lived in Georgia for many years. He as a young man was a singer and made several recordings. He continues from his personal recording studio as a musician and singer. Mr. Henderson went on tour with the USO during the Viet Nam War to bring entertainment to our troops. Mr. Henderson married his wife Penny in 1970. He would go on to a career with Delta Airlines and retire with them. Don and Penny have two sons who serve in our military today. They are members of the Glen Haven Baptist Church. Don is frank with his speaking and can talk in terms anyone can understand. He has studied the financial world and business world since he has been involved with his wife in real estate. He knows how to manage money well. Here are some key points that would lead a person to want to vote for Mr. Henderson:

1. He knows what people need in the county to help strengthen our police and fire departments.

2. Mr. Henderson knows the value of being taught how to keep your money close and when to spend it or not.

3. He knows the value of a good future for our children and has grandchildren he loves dearly that he helps to guide in the best ways to live.

4. Don knows that the county bureacracy has grown out of hand and needs to be reigned in so the citizens won't be burdened with a tax upon a tax.

5. Don knows that unbridled growth will lead to more crime, more infrastructure needs and a down effect on the general area.

6. Don is a man that any citizen can speak with and they can get a fair and honest shake from him.

The establishment of Henry County doesn't want to see him in the race because it interrupts their status quo. When a person votes for a Republican or Democrat in Henry County they are voting for identical ideas that revolve around spending your money. The Council for Quality Growth held a forum for the Republican and Democrat candidates, but did not invite Mr. Henderson. They ignored him and that should tell the citizens of Henry County that they are ignoring them as well. Snubbing their noses at those who work for a living is the wrong attitude to take with the people. Their ignorance to the values that are set forth in the community is sublime. They should never underestimate a person such as Mr. Henderson because he is not running with the so called "in crowd." Take a look at the past chairmans of the county and see what that has gotten the people of the county. They have spent enormous amounts of money in areas where they don't need to spend it. They have woefully let the infrastructure of the county go by the wayside. They knew long ago that the population would increase in the area and that is on the head so past commissioners who spent unwisely. Mr. Henderson is a true conservative who would spend the people's money wisely. The other candidates speak about roads, growth, and public safety all the time making promises that never get done. These are the three talking points that the citizens want to hear about and yet they never truly produce any fruit in the synomous words they use to get elected. The tax and spend mentality of past commissioners has hurt the county in so many ways. Mr. Henderson wants to reign in the spending and build a base of money that the county can have in reserve to help protect it from any future problems because he knows as many do that this economy is fragile and can slip once more.

Here are those who Mr. Henderson is running against in November. The Republican candidate is June Wood. She has gotten the support of many of those who want to tax and spend more on the citizens. She has the support of the in crowd who only want her there so they can keep the status quo. Why would she spend over $47,000 in a runoff with Lisa McGarity? She spent over $10,000 in the April time period for the primary. Now this speaks volumes about the money being influxed into her campaign by the rich developers (many of which don't live in Henry County), by the members of the Chamber of Commerce (where she was the leader at one time), and by those who live in those gated communities and behind their own walls. She is retired as is her husband from Georgia Power Company. She is from Birmingham, Alabama and began her career with the Southern Company at Alabama Power. Why are so many feeding money into her campaign? To keep the status quo and those who tell the chairman what to do and not do. That way they can continue the raping of the land in Henry County to the point that no one will be able to live there safely. She voted for President Obama (who is a Democrat and a liberal) and she admitted it. She speaks of saying that she became a Republican because Mr. Obama didn't have her values, then why did she vote for him? That is poor judgment on her part and that type of thinking can hurt the county as well if she gets the nod from the citizens. She has the same liberal ideas that a Democrat would because she is a seasoned Democrat. She wants to continue to bring more warehouses and other things to the county that the Chamber is backing and they don't have the best interest of the citizens at heart. They are only looking at their pocket books and bank accounts. Why would a true conservative Republican vote for her? Many do it because their buddy is doing it or they want to be part of a clique that wants to be seen and they have to keep up their appearances.

Then, Mr. Henderson is running against the Democrat Carlotta Harrell. Ms. Harrell if elected could face some conflict of interest problems. She sits on the Board of the Henry County Water and Sewer Authority, works with Commissioner Bruce Holmes, and her husband is a deputy sheriff with Henry County. There have been other instances of this in the past with a son of a chairman working for the police department and a son in law working there, but that was not their spouse. Ms. Harrell spent over $10,000 in the primary for Democrat and really didn't have to spend anything. And her contributors are from all across the state and very few from Henry County. That is an interesting note why would all those outside people put money into her campaign? She is nothing but a puppet for Mr. Holmes and the black establishment. The Democrat plan in this years election was to put one of their own in the Republican candidacy thus giving them the opportunity to take the chairmanship from the Republicans. Again, the mob mentality is involved here. She is for wasteful spending and being a part of the problem instead of being an answer to the problem. If people don't think this is the case go over to the Savoy Bar on Hwy 138 on weekends and see who is there plotting and scheming. They are connected to this group out of Clayton County and they have a voice in a certain City of Stockbridge Councilman.

So, to bring in good ideas for the county in the business sense then Mr. Henderson is the right choice. He knows we need to attract some good paying jobs for the county that the Chamber of Commerce and the Development Authority have been woefully lacking to bring here. Some very good chances have been missed because those who back Ms. Wood and Ms. Harrell let go by and many citizens could have benefitted from them coming to the county. Mr. Henderson also knows that the county cannot continue down this path of wasteful spending and not see trouble at the end. He recognizes also that the other commissioners have had a disdain for the current chairman because he sees what the problems are in the county and voices his opinions on the matter. That is why they went behind the citizens backs to try and neuter the job of Chair. It has already cost some of them their jobs and will cost the others as well.

The people Henry County need a strong willed person and strong voice for the county and that would be in Mr. Henderson. He knows how to be tactful and how to speak with authority and with compassion. He knows the tax and spend mentality of the current commission will in the long run hurt this county. Contact Mr. Henderson and speak with him to understand what type of leadership qualities he can bring to the county if elected. The best and right thing to do in November is to Write in Don Henderson for Chairman of the Board of Commissioners. You won't go wrong.

With more BOC elections coming in the next year, those sitting on the Henry County BOC voted to roll back the millage rate for the county portion 100%. Of course it won't do the 1st District Commissioner any good since he lost his election yesterday. What the citizens must realize is that the millage rate is the same and the school board has the line share of the millage rate. They are maxxed out. If your home was reassessed at a higher value over last year your taxes will increase. That is a given. Listening to the budget director you can understand what is coming down the road for the citizens. They will be dipping into the fund balance to pay for the increases promised to the police and fire departments. They will have to be matched and made even higher in next years budget and then the commissioners will have no choice, but to raise your taxes. It is a given that this vote taken on the 27th of July was done for political purposes not for good sound judgment in budget matters. These commissioners said that the workers of the county tightened their belts to give this roll back to the people. They have to eat and live as well. How much of the BOC gave their salary back to the county? They are like those in Washington they want their paycheck and the retirement that goes with serving. But who do they really serve? Think about that when you go to pay your property taxes this year after your evaluation came up.

According to the agenda for the July 19, 2016 BOC Meeting in McDonough, they will be discussing lease agreements for mowing equipment and Golf carts for the Cotton Fields Gold Course inwhich the County has taken on through the Department of Recreation. I looks as though the people will be on the hook for some sizeable money for this equipment leases to the tune of around one half a million dollars over the next 48--60 months. Why didn't the Golf Course already have this type of equipment? Who dropped the ball on this one and how much more will it cost the taxpayers to pay for this adventure.

They will also be discussing something is a double standard. A few years ago the BOC installed a rule saying no smoking or beer allowed in county parks. They will be approving a change to allow smoking and beer consumption at the Golf Course. Now this isn't right at all and if the Golf Course is to be a part of the Parks and Recreation Department then citizens should have the right to smoke and have a beer at the all county parks. This seems to be an elitist ruling because most people know it cost a good bit to play golf. Most working people in Henry County either don't have time to play golf or cannot afford it. By banning smoking and beer at the parks it was a serious infringement upon the rights of the citizens who paid to have these parks built. The citizens should take the BOC to court over this matter because it is a double standard.
