Insensitive Use Of 9/11 Images

Insensitive Use Of 9/11 Images

It has been only 18 years since America was attacked by muslim extremist intent on killing as many people as they can. On September 11, 2001, they killed 3,000 people. In today's society with all the technology, there were cameras all over the place in New York City on that day that captured just about everything that happened that day. We have seen images that are so horrifying  that until now it was only seen by the first responders or the Military.

As of late, I have seen countless use of some of the images such as a man falling out of one of the towers to his death. I have seen images of a woman standing on the edge of the tower with smoke and flames behind and all around her as she contemplates whether to jump or not.
It is not only photos, but also video that has been looped to show the planes hitting the towers over and over again, showing the huge fireball that most likely took a lot of lives in an instant. All of these images are best used to teach our children what happened that day. They also show us the hate that is directed towards the U.S.A. by these terrorists that are hell-bent on killing us all and taking over America.

However, what I have seen on social media as of late is very disturbing to me and a lot of other people. You see my fiance was one of the victims in the South Tower that day. I have lived that day every day for the past 18 years in my mind. I watched the TV for days afterwards in hopes of seeing my loved one, but it was not to be. Since the election that elected President Trump, I have seen more and more of the images and videos I have been talking about on social media like Facebook. I have talked to her parents about this and they feel the same way that I do. It is very insensitive to use the photos and videos as a tool to get a point across for a political agenda. You don’t need to post a photo or video, just say the attacks of 9/11 and people with any sense will know what you are talking about. You see it kills us that lost loved ones on that day to see the photos and video it brings it back to us in vivid detail that we don’t need. It makes those of us angry at the people posting that they have either no sense or no feelings about us. We that lost loved ones that day are still hurting very badly, some of us have even ended our lives because they could not deal with the loss and the heartless people around them. I have known 11 people that decided to end it because of people that they were around did not have a heart to try to understand their problem of dealing with the death of their loved one in such a historical event that will always be etched in their minds.  So, I ask you to please stop using those kinds of images to try and get your point across. It is hurting more people than it helps.
